Glover Teixeira: 'If I let this fight go to the judges, Phil Davis can have the victory'

Glover Teixeira answered Phil Davis' complaints about having to deal with Brazilian judges in their upcoming bout at UFC 179 in Rio de Janeiro.

Glover Teixeira disagrees that Phil Davis will have the disadvantage of fighting in Brazil at UFC 179 on October 25 because of the local judges. Mr. Wonderful shared this feeling recently, but the former UFC Light Heavyweight title challenger told Combate.com that he isn't expecting to need the socrecards to win the bout and remembered that Davis won a close fight against Lyoto Machida in Rio de Janeiro, at UFC 163, on August of 2013.

"I didn't understand his complaint. That decision (at UFC 163) was controversial, but I thought that Lyoto won the fight and Phil's arm was the one raised in Rio. I told him that, if I let this fight to the judges, he can have the victory. I'll finish this earlier. You can tell him to buy a lottery ticket because he will only beat me by lucky."

Both men are trying to redeem themselves after recent key losses. Teixeira fought for the title at UFC 172 in April and lost by a one-sided unanimous decision to the champion Jon Jones. On the same card, Davis was easily beaten by Anthony Johnson, also by unanimous decision.
