UFC 166 saw Gabriel Gonzaga take on Shawn Jordan in a heavyweight contest as part of the pay-per-view main card. As with most bouts between two heavy hitters, this one didn't last long. After landing a few straight rights on the opening seconds, Gonzaga was able to connect with a perfectly timed counter shot as Jordan was coming in. He dropped Jordan and swarmed with a few more punches to follow up. Just like that, and it was all over a little over a minute in.

What was the high point?
The counter punch that finished the fight. Gonzaga showed good technique to block and perfectly time that punch to land his own bomb.
What was the low point?
None. The bout only lasted a little over a minute.
Where do they go from here?
Gonzaga has seen a resurgence since coming back from a brief retirement. He has now won 5 of his last 6 bouts, and will likely get another step up in competition on his next bout. Maybe a bout against Roy Nelson or Big Nog would be interesting.
Shawn Jordan goes back to the drawing board as his two fight winning streak gets stopped. He's still young though, and there are a lot of interesting bouts available for him against one of the newer heavies outside the top 15.
