UFC 161 results recap: Ryan Jimmo vs. Igor Pokrajac

Take a look back at the UFC 161 light heavyweight bout between Ryan Jimmo and Igor Pokrajac.

In the third main card bout of UFC 161, Ryan Jimmo (18-2, 2-1 UFC) and Igor Pokrajac (25-10, 1 NC, 4-5, 1 NC UFC) put on a borefest for 15 minutes that Jimmo controlled from start to finish. All three rounds consisted of a lot of cage work and separations by referee Yves Lavigne. Jimmo did have Pokrajac hurt in the second round, but wasn't able to put him away. That was about the only really exciting part of the bout. All three judges had it 30-27 for Jimmo.

In his post-fight interview, Jimmo apologized for the lack of excitement but said he lost his last bout and he really needed a win here. It was the third loss in a row for Pokrajac, but one of them was flipped to a no contest due to his opponent testing positive for a banned substance.

What was the high point of the fight?

Jimmo had Pokrajac down near the Canadian fighter's corner, who were relaying instructions to him. For some reason, Pokrajac turned his head towards them and yelled "BLAH BLAH BLAH", which was highly amusing.

Where do they go from here?

Jimmo will likely continue to fight on Canadian cards and might get a more high-profile bout next time. I'd like to see him face off with Thiago Silva, but that might be a little too much too soon. Especially since Dana White hated this fight.

Pokrajac will continue to plod along in the middle of the 205-pound division, and will probably be given a fighter more willing to engage with him next time out. If his eye issues are cleared up, Gian Villante might be a good candidate.

Watch now, later, or never?

Never. Multiple people reported falling asleep during this bout and missing the rest of the card. Seriously. You don't need to watch this.
