A fight originally scheduled for December's The Ultimate Fighter 16 finale, Jamie Varner vs. Melvin Guillard is officially a go for UFC 155 -- a potentially great fight set for the FX prelim portion of the show.

On the night of the TUF 16 finale, Varner was throwing up in the back, an aftereffect of a bad weight cut. Guillard originally accused Varner of ducking him and wasn't interested in fighting him, but UFC president Dana White wasn't having it and made it for their year end show.

The 29-year-old Guillard (30-11-2-1) has been on a tough streak since a five fight win streak brought him to the brink of a lightweight title shot. He's lost three of his last four and is coming off a first round KO loss to Donald Cerrone in August.

The 28-year-old Varner (20-7-1-2) got a second chance at a stint in Zuffa as an injury replacement against Edson Barboza. He made the most of his opportunity, beating Barboza by first round TKO. He followed that up with a third round submission loss to Joe Lauzon in August, a common opponent and end with Guillard.
