Moraga: 28 years old | 5' 6" tall | 67" reach
What have these two done recently?
Cariaso: W Josh Ferguson (UD) | W Takeya Mizugaki (UD) | W Vaughn Lee SD
Moraga: W Ulysses Gomez (KO) | W Maurice Senters (UD) | W Matthew Garcia (Sub)
How did these two get here?
Cariaso was 1-1 in the WEC's Bantamweight division when that organization was absorbed into the UFC. He went 3-1 in the UFC's Bantamweight division before dropping down to 125lbs and beating Josh Ferguson.
Moraga made his UFC debut in August against the well-regarded submission artist Ulysses Gomez and impressed with a brutal deconstruction of Gomez.
Why should you care?
Flyweight fights are by definition fast-paced affairs, frequently featuring feats of speed and coordination that are unheard of in the bigger divisions. Also the small size of the division means contenders are emerging overnight. Finally, Moraga's vicious win over Gomez sent a message to the division that here was a new fighter to watch a win over the formidable Cariaso will prove it was no fluke.
