Closing out the Facebook portion of UFC 153, Middleweight Chris Camozzzi took an ugly decision over Luiz Cane. With the loss, Cane drops to 4-5 in the UFC (12-5, 1 NC Overall). TUF 11 vet Camozzi extended his streak to 3 fights. He's now 8-2 in the UFC (18-5 Overall).

Making his first appearance at 185 lbs, it looked like Cane would impress in the first round. He secured an early takedown from a back clinch and immediately started threatening with the rear naked choke. Camozzi defended well, however and started taking over the fight. For the next two rounds, Camozzi out struck Cane, even rocking him a couple times. The decision went the right way and Camozzi picked up the unanimous decision.

What was the high point of the fight?

The rear naked choke attempt by Cane in the first round. He came very close to finishing the fight early and really impressing in his MW debut.

Where do they go from here?

Camozzi has quietly put together a nice little run at 185 lbs. This win over Cane caps off a 3 fight win streak, though it's not against the best competition. We've seen before that Chris struggles against tougher competitors like Francis Carmont. Despite the limited ceiling, he's settling into the role of a solid gatekeeper.

This is probably the end of the UFC line for Luiz Cane. He's now lost four of his last five bouts, with his only win coming over Elliot Marshall. It's a sad decline to see for someone who promised so much potential only a couple years ago.

Watch it now, later, or never?

Watch it later. The action is somewhat sloppy, but fun. there's better fights that deserve your attention first, however.
