The Ultimate Fighter 17 Finale brought a lot of action to the Octagon Saturday night. But, before headliners Urijah Faber and Scott Jorgensen got down, the event opened with 3 Featherweight fights on the UFC Facebook stream.

Cole Miller (19-7) vs. Bart Palaszewski (36-17)

The fight looked to be going Bart's way through most of the first round. He landed the better shots on the feet and even had Miller reeling at one point. Then Miller rallied with a takedown. Bart looked to return to his feet, but Miller took his back and locked in the fight ending rear naked choke with only seconds left in the round.

Coming off a two fight losing streak, Miller needed this win to stay in the UFC ranks. He's now 1-2 in the 145 lb. division. Bart has now given up three straight losses and has only won a single fight of his last 5. It's safe to say he'll be getting his walking papers after this one.

Maximo Blanco (9-4-1, 1 NC) vs. Sam Sicilia (11-3)

Blanco and Sicilia battle for 15 minutes before the judges' scorecards were read. In the end, it was Blanco's superior speed and wrestling that got him the nod on all the cards. The win wasn't without controversy. Referee Kim Winslow repeatedly warned Maximo for grabbing the fence, but failed to take a point, which would have changed the score to a draw.

After a lackluster debut against Marcus Brimage at UFC 145, Blanco needed a break out performance here. He and Sicilia definitely put on a show both can be proud of. Sicilia dropped to 1-2 in the UFC, but the gutsy performance will probably keep him on the UFC payroll.

Daniel Pineda (18-9) vs. Justin Lawrence (4-2)

Pineda came out aggressive and secured a quick takedown. With Lawrence's back against the cage, he grabbed for the kimura. It took him just a moment to lock it in and elicit screams from Lawrence.

Pineda improved to 3-2 as a UFC fighter, while Lawrence dropped to 1-2 since coming out of the TUF 15 house. The win most likely saved Pineda's spot on the roster as he came into the fight riding a 2-fight losing streak. Instead, Lawrence left the arena with his UFC dreams hanging in the balance.
