UFC on Fuel 10 is nearing completion with the addition of another preliminary card fight, this one between featherweights Rodrigo Damm and Mizuto Hirota. The original report came from Tatame, although the UFC has not made it official.
Damm (10-6) fought in Strikeforce and then earned a spot on the first season of TUF Brazil, but kidney problems forced him off the show after reaching the semifinals. He fought at UFC 147 against Anistavio Meideiros, winning by rear-naked choke. Damm's 2nd UFC fight against Antonio Carvalho took place at UFC 154, but Carvalho took the split decision.
Hirota (14-6-1) is a former Sengoku and DEEP lightweight champion who fought once in Strikeforce, losing a close decision to Pat Healy. He dropped to featherweight in his UFC debut to face submission wizard Rani Yahya, but the Brazilian was able to control Hirota for much of the fight to earn a unanimous decision.
UFC on Fuel 10 is scheduled for June 8th in Fortaleza, Brazil. TUF Brazil 2 coaches Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and Fabricio Werdum headline the event, which will also hold the TUF welterweight finale. If you count the TUF finalists, there are now 11 fights set for this card, which probably means that the majority of the TUF Brazil 2 cast won't receive a UFC contract.
