The WBC heavyweight title is on the line this weekend in Las Vegas’ T-Mobile Arena.
Tyson Fury took the belt away from Deontay Wilder with a comprehensive TKO win in February 2020. These two first fought in December 2018, with Wilder retaining the belt with a disputed draw even though he dropped Fury twice. Many believed Fury still did enough to win the decision, but many more couldn’t believe he got up from Wilder’s vaunted right hand in that final round.
What will the trilogy provide? Hopefully closure. Oleksandr Usyk has the other three major belts after he upset Anthony Joshua, but those two are likely to have a rematch in 2022. This third fight between Fury and Wilder should be the finale in their heated rivalry.
Before they get into the ring on Oct. 9, we gotta hear them talk in the press conference.
