UFC Vegas 41 is setting sail this afternoon from the company’s APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. We’ve got a top-5 ranked middleweight main event between the #2 rated, Paulo Costa, and the #5 rated, Marvin Vettori. Here’s the catch... this contest will actually take place at 205-pounds, after Costa failed to clock in at the initial agreed upon weight limit of 186-pounds. Vettori is a fighter, through and through, so naturally he was willing to scrap regardless of the weight cut shenanigans from his opponent. Bloody Elbow is here to bring you the betting lines for this increasingly weird headliner, and for the rest of the UFC Vegas 41 lineup.
Having won five-straight sandwiched between two losses to Israel Adesanya, Marvin Vettori opened up as the betting favorite here. Vettori is on deck anywhere from -175 down to -222, with a $100 bet on his best current line bringing back a total of $157.14. Things have been a little wonky for Costa as of late. He’s pulled out of a couple fights, which happens, but this whole weight cut thing makes him a total rogue wave. Bettors can take the price on Paulo at a value ranging from +150 up to +165, with a $100 wager on his best moneyline standing to make $265 altogether.
The bookies do not foresee these fighters making it to the final bell. The prop bet ‘Fight doesn’t go to decision’ is positioned with a favored line of -185, with a +155 comeback on the ‘Fight goes to decision’ option. Although the odds indicate that the UFC Vegas 41 main event will be ending early, neither Vettori nor Costa are favored to get a finish. The bet ‘Vettori wins inside distance’ is available as high as +250, with ‘Costa wins inside distance’ seeing its best mark at +290
Vettori has actually been pegged as being more likely to win on the scorecards than he is to find a finish. The exotic bet ‘Vettori wins by decision’ is topping out at +230, and it should be noted that most of Marvin’s UFC victories happened on points (5 of 7). What about Paulo on the score cards, though? Well, that idea seems to be all but written off as that prop bet has been spotted lingering way up at an altitude of +650.
