Third time lucky?

Carlos Condit vs. Matt Brown has been rescheduled for a UFC Fight Night event on January 30 after injuries prevented the matchup from coming to fruition on two previous occasions.

Sources close to MMA Fighting confirmed the welterweight matchup on Thursday but the UFC has yet to make it official. Both fighters are thought to have verbally agreed to fight at UFC Fight Night 188 on Jan. 30 at a to be determined location.

Condit and Brown were first scheduled to meet back in 2013 but ‘The Immortal’ was forced out of the bout after suffering a back injury training. The matchup was rebooked in 2018 but Brown pulled out, once again, after suffering a torn ACL.

Condit is just 2-5 in his last seven outings whereas Brown, 39, is 3-4 and holds knockout victories over Diego Sanchez and Ben Saunders. Despite being at the tail end of their respective careers, both men are still considered two of the most entertaining fighters in the UFC and their Jan. 30 showdown promises to be a bloodbath.
