Outside of a Conor McGregor fight, UFC 232 was about as big a PPV event as the world’s largest MMA promotion can put on. Two massive title bouts at the top, each one an event headliner in its own right. And underneath those fights, a card stuffed with notable veteran talent and fascinating top prospects.
It’s fitting then, that on a card of that magnitude, a little extra love would get spread around to the fighters making it all happen. Of the ten cards this year for which the UFC publicly released salary numbers, UFC 232 was the only one to have ten athletes break the $100,000 mark for their official fight purse. No other card had more than seven.
The $3.5 million in total purses paid out isn’t the highest for a UFC event this year — that honor likely goes to UFC 229, where Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov pushed the UFC to let go of $6.6 million in base fighter pay. But it’s good to see fighters all the way from the Fight Pass prelims up to the PPV main card making a sizable chunk of change.

Alexander Volkanovski — $125,000 ($65k base + $60 to win)
Chad Mendes — $87,000 (no win bonus)
Walt Harris — $72,000 ($36k base + 36k to win)
Andrei Arlovski — $300,000 (no win bonus)

Alongside the contracted amounts above, Amanda Nunes, Ryan Hall, Chad Mendes, and Alexander Volkanovski all took home an additional $50,000 in bonus money. Pushing the total number of fighters walking away with more than $100 grand to eleven.
