We’re just one day away from Anthony Joshua (21-0, 20 KOs) defending his WBA, WBO, and IBF heavyweight titles against Russia’s Alexander Povetkin (34-1, 24 KOs) in front of a large crowd at Wembley Stadium.
The fighters took to the scale on Friday in London, England, and... well... it’s literally impossible for them to miss weight, so the only drama at hand was how heavy these two would be. Povetkin came in at 222 lbs, so he’ll be significantly smaller than Joshua, who weighed 246 lbs.
Back in March, Joshua weighed 242 for his fight vs. Joseph Parker, which he won by decision for the first time in his career. Povetkin was on the undercard that night, and he weighed 229 lbs for his KO vs. David Price. So Joshua is coming in heavier than in his last appearance, whereas Povetkin is a bit lighter.
