According to the Liverpool ECHO Paul Cahoon, 41, a former mixed martial artist is wanted by British police for alleged involvement in a drug empire that operated from Liverpool to South Wales. Cahoon fought professionally between 1998 and 2010, amassing a record of 13-12.
Cahoon fought for M-1, Sengoku, and Cage Rage as well as regional promotions in the UK and the Netherlands. Among his past opponents are Melvin Manhoef, Ian Freeman, Elvis Sinosic, Amar Suloev, Hiromitsu Kanehara, and Kazuhiro Nakamura.
Authorities in Liverpool have been after Cahoon, who was nicknamed ‘Boom Boom’ during his MMA career, since they carried out a wave of police raids in the north west of England in 2016. The raids were part of Operation Orlando and were conducted by Titan aka the North West regional organized crime unit. The raids resulted in seven men receiving a combined 51 years in prison.
The gang that was the target of these raids had, according to police, distributed 200 kg of amphetamines worth up to £200,000 ($265,000) in a series of drug runs between the Liverpool area and South Wales.
The ECHO reported that prosecutors told Liverpool crown court that they believe Cahoon, who was not arrested during the raids, was a leader of the gang. Cahoon has been wanted by police since at least 2015. It was previously believed that Cahoon may be hiding in Dubai, but investigators now say they have an ‘open mind’ as to where he is hiding.
Police are currently appealing to the public for any information that might lead to Cahoon’s arrest. However, authorities have stated that members of the public should not approach Cahoon because he is ‘potentially violent and dangerous’.
Information about Cahoon can be directed to the Titan via phone (0151 777 7694) or Crime Stoppers UK (0800 555 111).
