Manager: I don’t see anything that would keep Brock Lesnar from taking Daniel Cormier fight

After UFC 226 last July, talks about a possible heavyweight title fight between champion Daniel Cormier and former title holder Brock Lesnar first came to surface. During the months that followed, however, these conversations seemed to have died down.

With the victory over Stipe Miocic and becoming recognized as the second double-champ in the UFC, Cormier planned out his next move that involved two more fights against Lesnar and Jon Jones, before riding off into the sunset by his 40th birthday in March. Instead, his first title defense as the heavyweight champion took place sooner than expected, at UFC 230 against Derrick Lewis.

From his end, Lesnar has been uncertain, as far as his MMA career goes. A report about an alleged “secret” deal with the WWE even surfaced early this month, which supposedly put the kibosh on this heavyweight mega-fight.

According to Lesnar’s manager Paul Heyman, however, everything will come to fruition, but only if the right conditions are in place.

“As long Daniel Cormier has the balls to step into the Octagon and put his title up against Brock Lesnar, and the UFC comes up with the money for Brock Lesnar, I don’t see anything that would keep Brock Lesnar from taking the fight,” Heyman told TMZ.

Lesnar re-entered the USADA testing pool last July 3rd but will not be eligible to compete until January 8th of the coming year.
