The UFC’s #13 ranked welterweight Ricardo Lamas just finished the #14 ranked Darren Elkins in the third act of the UFC Argentina co-main event. The opening round was back and forth, with each man drawing blood from the other with Elkins getting in some clinch work. The leg kicks of Lamas really started to take a toll on Elkins in the second round, visibly hurting him. Come round three, Lamas landed a sneaky elbow on the feet, and then a couple on the ground to force the stoppage.

Round 3 - Elkins coming out aggressively. Lamas with another leg kick and a body shot. Weak single leg by Elkins is thwarted. Left hook lands for Elkins. Leg kick and uppercut by Lamas, then a jab. Lamas ties up Elkins against the fence, Elkins exits with a right hand. Lamas getting tagged a couple of times here. Nasty leg kick and a left hook by Lamas. Elkins puts Lamas against the fence, as Ricardo fires a knee to the body, an elbow, then dodges and Elkins punch. Well-timed double leg takedown for Lamas, who slams home an elbow from half guard. Lamas delivering the ground-and-pound and these elbows are badly hurting Elkins. Hammerfists force the stoppage with less than a minute to go.
