The UFC Argentina co-main event just witnessed the promotion’s #13 featherweight Ricardo Lamas finish off the #14 ranked Darren Elkins with savage ground strikes in the third round.
Elkins pressed his foe up against the fence to start the bout, but Lamas was keen to free himself into open space. Lamas had Elkins bleeding early, but Elkins also opened up a cut under the right eye of Lamas. With the round coming to a close, Elkins was able to scoop up Lamas and slam him down to the mat.
Lamas attacked the leg of his foe as Elkins tried to work his boxing. Lamas even connected high with the kick, but Elkins just ate it like the terminator that he is. The next time Lamas went high, Elkins used the opportunity to blast a takedown which turned into a scramble. Lamas started to really hurt Elkins to the leg and had him bleeding from more spots on his face before the round ended.
Leaking from the face, Elkins pressed forward in the final frame, but Lamas was able to time a takedown. A brutal elbow mad Elkins bleed even more from the face, and then a wave of ground strikes prompted the referee to step in and stop the fight. Elkins protested the stoppage, but he was getting battered.
