The UFC’s 25th Anniversary show in Denver was a nice walk down memory lane, but was pretty light in terms of actual relevance. The removal of Frankie Edgar from the card all but eliminated any changes near the top of any division, but it did lead to quite possibly the craziest finish of all time when Yair Rodriguez stopped Chan Sung Jung with one second to go in a fight he was losing.
Nonetheless, there is a new contender in the weak women’s 135-pound division, and Rodriguez did move up with his big win. So here’s a look at all the moves coming out of last Saturday’s event.
P4P - No changes.
Heavyweight - No changes.
Light Heavyweight - Glover Teixeira dropped for a tie for ten to take over the 11 spot on his own.
Middleweight - Brad Tavares dropped from a tie for nine to take over the ten spot on his own.
Welterweight - No changes.
Lightweight - No changes.
Featherweight - Josh Emmett dropped from a tie for eight to take over nine on his own. Alexander Volkanovski is up one spot to 10. Rodriguez is up three spots to 11. The Korean Zombie dropped two spots to 12. Ricardo Lamas, Darren Elkins, and Zabit Magomedharipov are all down one spot each to 13-15 respectively.
Bantamweight - No changes.
Flyweight - Since they took out three fighters in the last couple of days, it had left Neil Seery in the 15 spot. They quickly realized that he’s retired, so Eric Shelton now has the spot.
Women’s Bantamweight - Germaine de Randamie’s big win over former title challenger Raquel Pennington propelled her up three spots to take over the two position. Ketlen Vieira, Julianna Pena, and Pennington all dropped one spot each to three to five respectively.
Women’s Flyweight - No changes.
Women’s Strawweight - No changes.
