Khabib responds to McGregor’s lengthy Instagram post: ‘It’s only business’

On Monday, UFC star Conor McGregor gave an in depth analysis and round-by-round breakdown of his fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov, which he lost via fourth-round submission in the blockbuster UFC 229 main event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

McGregor didn’t mention what he said to Nurmagomedov at the end of round three, but ‘The Eagle’ was keen to remind the former two-division champion in a witty Instagram post of his own.

Khabib left a comment on the UFC’s official Instagram page claiming that his beat down of McGregor at UFC 229 was ‘only business’, which is what ‘The Notorious’ told Nurmagomedov in a grappling exchange in round three.

After Khabib submitted McGregor with a face crank in the fourth round, the reigning lightweight champ leapt over the Octagon fence and attacked SBG Ireland’s Dillon Danis in the stands, which triggered an all-out brawl inside the Octagon.

McGregor and Khabib are expected to meet with the Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) later today, where both men face possible sanctions for their actions. Nurmagomedov still hasn’t received his $2 million fight purse.
