After more than three years away from the Octagon, Chan Sung Jung returned to the UFC in style, scoring an opening round knockout of Dennis Bermudez in the UFC Fight Night: Bermudez vs. Korean Zombie main event in Houston, Texas. The Korean Zombie survived getting rocked early in the fight before delivering a spectacular uppercut to put Bermudez away.
Bermudez’s first takedown was stuffed by The Korean Zombie. As Bermudez overcommitted, Jung went for a takedown which Dennis stuffed. A big right hand wobbled The Korean Zombie, but he still had his wits about him to continue to fend off Bermudez’s takedowns. Bermudez was the aggressor and landing hard strikes. TKZ connected on a sharp right hand but got caught with one thrown by Bermudez. Jung wrecked Bermudez with a lovely right uppercut, which dropped the New Yorker immediately. Follow-up ground strikes ended the fight, but the uppercut was the shot that did 99% of the damage.

Bermudez is denied a third consecutive win, while The Korean Zombie is back in a big way, as he picks up his first victory since a d’arce choke of Dustin Poirier in May 2012.
