The UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Browne main event was a heavyweight matchup between heavy-handed brawler Derrick “The Black Beast” Lewis and veteran contender Travis Browne, who was in desperate need of a win after a series of lackluster performances. In a crazy, back-and-forth affair, Lewis rallied from a rough opening round to knock Browne out cold and extended his winning streak to six.

Browne started off with kicks to Derrick’s lead leg. Lewis threw one to the body. A well-placed front kick to the body hurt Lewis but for some reason Browne did not go on a major attack. He hurt him again to the body but remained patient. Lewis inexplicably threw a spinning back kick and a jumping head kick. Browne got hit with a right hand and was on the canvas briefly. Lewis still couldn’t deal with the body shots and he was badly doubled over in pain by a knee. Browne pounced but did not get the finish. “Hapa” kept up with the leg and body kicks as Lewis seldom threw anything. Lewis ended the round with another ridiculous spinning high kick.

Craziness ensued in round 2. After Browne threw a kick, Lewis was able to tie him up and then he just went bombs away on Browne after landing a left in the clinch. He rocked him with uppercuts and swung wild head shots like a mad man as Browne desperately covered up. Browne tried to take Lewis down, which backfired spectacularly, as he nearly got fully mounted. As Browne tried to get himself back up, Lewis effortlessly tossed him back down and blasted him with massive ground-and-pound. Browne was able to got back to his feet, only to get floored by a grazing right hand to the temple. Lewis smashed Browne with absolutely savage punches on the ground, and Browne was out cold, as referee Mario Yamasaki stopped the fight extremely late.

Official result: Derrick Lewis def. Travis Browne via KO (punches) at 3:12 of round 2
