Gabi Garcia was one of the most formidable figures in jiu-jitsu, and her crossover to MMA has given her the same reputation there. She has won her first two fights in Rizin, and it seems that the promotion is having a hard time finding her opponents.
TMZ spoke to her and her trainer, former UFC and Strikeforce fighter Renato 'Babalu' Sobral, about her current standing. Garcia confirmed that they can't find many credible opponents due to her size, though she says she'll fight people bigger or smaller than her - she doesn't care.
The reporter then asks Babalu if they would consider having her fight a man if the promotion can't find a suitable woman:
"In my opinion, a year from now, I think (if) they don't have any more girls, I think the only chance is for some man to fight her. And they better watch out, because they're gonna get knocked out by a girl."
TMZ states that they have a source that said there's "been talk of a Gabi vs. Man fight in Japan", but it's not signed. It seems like a stretch for it to happen anytime soon, especially with what Babalu said there. But it is Japan - you never know what's going to happen.
