UFC On FOX 21: Tommy Toehold's Top 5 fighter picks

UFC On FOX 21 will be upon us tomorrow night via the friendly city of Vancouver, Canada. Crowd pleasing favorite and Number 5 welterweight contender, Carlos Condit will be plying his excellent standup against the Number 4 ranked ground wizard, Demian Maia in the main event, and the rest of the card features a veritable cornucopia of intriguing match-ups. Okay, maybe not a cornucopia, but there are some really good contests worth your consideration, for sure.

Among those super interesting bouts is the rematch that's flying really low under the radar that has the potential to be performance bonus material. Jim Miller and Joe Lauzon will once again set the Octagon fence meter to "Electrify" when they open the main card. Anthony Pettis will make his featherweight debut against one of the slickest grapplers in the division, Charles Oliveira. Bec Rawlings, fresh off a pair of victories, will be welcoming Paige VanZant back to action for the first time since her devastating loss to Rose Namajunas. There's also plenty of Canadian talent and a few fresh faces making their promotional debuts.

Bloody Elbow content partner, Tommy Toehold has put together another video detailing his top 5 fighter picks for your viewing pleasure, as has become his modus operandi. Here's a quote to get you started:

"At number 2 we have Joe Lauzon. Tied for the most performance bonuses in UFC history, he's an extremely active fighter who will not be sitting back during this one. He looked amazing at UFC 200, and I think he wins big here again this weekend with an early stoppage.

Finally, at number one, we have "Smiling" Sam Alvey. This guy is the definition of a finisher, and 9 of his last 10 wins have ended via stoppage. His opponent, "King" Kevin Casey, absorbs a lot of significant strikes per minute, but it only takes one with Sam. Look for a devastating KO finish early here for the smiling one Saturday night."
