UFC 202 results: Anthony Johnson uppercut KOs Glover Teixeira in 13 seconds

Joshua Dahl-USA TODAY Sports

Before Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz could step into the cage, light heavyweight contenders Anthony Johnson and Glover Teixeira had to square off in the co-main event. At stake (in all likelihood) for both men was a title shot against current UFC champion Daniel Cormier. Both men have fought for UFC gold only to come away empty-handed, so tonight was all about getting that second shot at the belt.

Quick right hand by Rumble. Humongous uppercut and two hammerfists end Teixeira's night. That is absolutely absurd. The fight ended almost as quickly as it started. Teixeira was out cold and then when he woke up, he tried grappling referee Dan Miragliotta.

Official result: Anthony Johnson def. Glover Teixeira via KO (punches) at :13 of round 1

Rumble is the first man to clean KO Teixeira (Glover was TKO'd in his MMA debut). He is by far one of the hardest punchers this sport has ever seen, and next stop is surely a rematch with Daniel Cormier.
