Coach: It will be 'really hard' for Anderson Silva to make UFC 200

Per Haljestam-USA TODAY Sports

Last month, Anderson Silva's dream of fighting in front of his hometown fans in Curitiba, Brazil were dashed, as he was forced out of his UFC 198 bout vs. Uriah Hall due to gall bladder surgery. It marked the first time in his illustrious career that the former middleweight champion had to be withdrawn from a UFC event.

Now that his problematic gall bladder has been successfully removed, Silva is cleared to resume light training, per MMA Fighting. Last month, following the surgery, Silva's physical trainer told Sherdog that "The Spider" was "really motivated to take part at that historical UFC 200 event."

However, according to Anderson's boxing coach, Luiz Carlos Dorea, it is "really hard" to see Silva being able to make the big July 9th pay-per-view at the T-Mobile Arena.

Silva (33-7, 1 NC) is coming off a unanimous decision loss to Michael Bisping at UFC London on February 27th. With his win over Nick Diaz overturned to a no-contest after his drug test failure, Silva is technically without a win since stopping Stephan Bonnar in October 2012. His last win at middleweight came in July 2012, when he knocked out Chael Sonnen in a lucrative rematch at UFC 148.
