Bisping on Hendo rematch: ‘Old man’ Dan Henderson is on ‘borrowed time’

Recently, musings of a rematch between Michael Bisping and Dan Henderson have hit the headlines after ‘The Count’ knocked out Luke Rockhold to become middleweight champion at UFC 199.

Bisping, who became the first British UFC champion in the promotion’s history on June 4, was knocked out by Henderson's infamous 'h-bomb' at the blockbuster UFC 100 pay-per-view in 2009. It was, as I explained in a recent article, one of the most significant KO's in the sport and a moment that is forever etched into MMA's history.

The 37-year-old was recently interviewed by TMZ, where he joked about Hendo's age and said he'd like to avenge the loss.

"Dan Henderson is somebody that I would like to shut up," Bisping said. "I owe him one; he knocked me out in the past. I know that guy's on borrowed time. He's an old man but he's still got the knockout power. So before he goes, before he walks off into the sunset and retires, I owe him a knockout - so that would be fun."

It's likely that Bisping, who scored his first clean knockout in 12 years at UFC 199, will defend his title against Ronaldo 'Jacare' Souza despite the campaign for a rematch with Henderson.

Souza recently TKO'd Vitor Belfort in the first round at UFC 198 and is currently ranked as the #3 middleweight in the world.
