In preparation for his rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202, Conor McGregor hired elite training partners in all aspects of MMA. For his grappling training, he sought the help of multi-time Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu champion and Marcelo Garcia black belt Dillon Danis.

The two men went at it a little bit after UFC 202, when Diaz first spoke about “placing Danis on his hit list.” This had prompted the latter to issue his own challenge to Diaz.

"I don't know what that means, I'm on his hit list,” Danis told Ariel Helwani in his appearance on the MMA Hour in August. “But if he wants to do MMA, I'll fight him in MMA if he wants. He can do a CM Punk with me and bring me into the UFC. He can be my first fight. I'll fight him in a couple months, whatever he wants to do."

“Any kind of combat he wants to do, I'm ready to step in there with him. Whatever he wants. No problem. MMA? It doesn't matter to me. I'll fight him in MMA tomorrow."

The 23-year-old grappler is coming off an impressive win on Saturday at the 2016 IBJJF No-Gi Pans, bagging double gold at the medium heavyweight and absolute divisions. Seemingly riding on a confidence high, Danis sent this message to the entire UFC roster.

Danis is expected to once again be part of McGregor’s camp in preparation for Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205 on November 12th in New York.
