UFC 204 free fight video: Vitor Belfort vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama

Let's take a trip down memory lane and travel all the way back to August 2011. UFC 133 was the promotion's 2nd ever PPV in Philadelphia, and the main event that night was Rashad Evans vs. Tito Ortiz (!!!). In the co-main, Vitor Belfort faced off against Yoshihiro Akiyama, better known as "Sexyama." Belfort had just come off the front kick KO loss to Anderson Silva, while Akiyama had lost consecutive fights to Chris Leben and Michael Bisping. Vitor had closed as a 3-to-1 favorite to beat Akiyama, and ... well ... he beat him.

At the top of the page, you can watch Belfort destroy Akiyama inside of 2 minutes, with the acknowledgement that Belfort may have gotten Akiyama with shots to the back of the head at the every end. Here's Brent Brookhouse's play-by-play of the entire fight.

Round 1 - Both men throw leg kicks at the same time. Vitor with a head kick that is blocked. "Let's go Vitor" chants go up in the arena. Head kick lands for Vitor. Akiyama throws the Silva front kick and misses. Vitor pours it on with strikes and Akiyama is down. A few more and Akiyama works to his feet but Vitor opens up with a huge flurry and leaves Akiyama face down, out cold. Vitor Belfort wins by KO (punches), round 1.

And here's how the Bloody Elbow comments section reacted to the finish.

You can watch Belfort in the co-main event of UFC 204, as he takes on Gegard Mousasi in Manchester, England.
