WSOF announces December 31st show in NYC with four title fights

World Series of Fighting is bringing their show to New York City on New Years Eve. The event had been rumored for a while, and they even canceled two other events to bolster the card for this one. The NYE card will feature four title fights, according to a press release from the promotion today.

The headliner will see lightweight champ Justin Gaethje defending against Joao Zeferino. Gaethje (16-0, 9-0 WSOF) was set to defend his title earlier this month against Ozzy Dugulubgov, but the bout was scratched at the last minute. Zeferino (21-8, 3-2 WSOF) beat Jason High on that card to earn a title shot.

In addition to that, welterweight champ Jon Fitch will finally fight Jake Shields for the belt; bantamweight champion Marlon Moraes will defend against Josenaldo Silva; and dual champ David Branch will defend his middleweight title this time, taking on Louis Taylor.

The card will also feature the WSOF debut of former UFC heavyweight Jared Rosholt, and will see Yushin Okami taking on Paul Bradley.

World Series of Fighting 34 takes place at the Madison Square Garden Theater on December 31st. Tickets go on sale October 28th.
