Notable commissioner Pat Lundvall’s appointment to the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) is nearing its end, according to MMAFighting.com. She was informed by the governor’s office Thursday that her last day with the commission is Oct. 31 and that she will not be re-appointed for another term.

"I have served three terms for a total of nine years with the NAC," Lundvall told MMAFighting.com via e-mail. "I considered every minute of it as a privilege and an honor."

Lundvall was appointed to the NAC in 2007, and was elected as chair of the commission in 2009.

Among MMA fans and media, Lundvall is one of the more controversial commissioners compared to others.

Last year, she initially motioned for Nick Diaz to be banned for life following his third marijuana offense, but eventually agreed on a five-year suspension. That was later reduced to 18 months after Diaz and his team reached a settlement with the NSAC.

Earlier this month, Lundvall motioned for a $150,000 fine for Conor McGregor, who was facing disciplinary action for throwing water bottles and cans of energy drinks at a UFC 202 pre-fight press conference in August. McGregor ended up being fined $75,000 plus the expense of a public-service announcement the Irishman must film.

Following the hearing, McGregor taunted the commission and stated that he wasn’t interested in fighting in Nevada in the “forseeable future,” and UFC president Dana White called McGregor’s punishment “insane.”

It isn’t clear who, if anyone, will replace Lundvall at this time.
