On Monday afternoon, at around 12 pm Central, history was made when former UFC light heavyweight champion, Chuck Liddell went live via Facebook’s live video function, to do something completely out of character and completely awesome. The mohawked badass was joined by UFC lightweight contender, Michael Chiesa and another friend for a rousing karaoke rendition of The Eagles’ biggest hit, Hotel California.
The 46-year-old crooned along to the lyrics and danced around the stage with moves that would make Fred Astaire jealous. He and Chiesa passed the mic back and forth, finally positioning themselves to share it. The three were obviously having a good time, and their friend (or karaoke director) even ended the song with some Eazy-E rhymes while the UFC legend grooved out by the guitar player.
It should be noted that wherever they were filming, Chuck says it was actually after midnight. The video has 34K views and a multitude of comments and shares. Chuck titled the post:
“Karaoke I know don't quit my day job ! I'm terrible...but ask me if I care? Can I live??!!!!!”
He’s been responding to comments throughout the day with a great sense of humor, apparently enjoying the interaction with his fans. I know I speak on the behalf of legions of fans when I say this,
Please keep singing, Chuck. This unseen, totally awesome side of you should be let out to play much more often.
