Last August, Nick Diaz’s 18-month suspension that was slapped by the Nevada Athletic Commission had expired. But apparently, it has yet to be officially lifted, at least not until Diaz has finally settled the remaining $75,000 from his $100,000 fine.

The former welterweight title challenger did make himself heard over the past couple of months, beginning with a social media feud with current 170-pound champion Tyron Woodley. He was also part of Georges St-Pierre’s shortlist of intended opponents upon return, while Joe Rogan wants him to follow his younger brother’s footsteps and face Conor McGregor some time in the near future.

Clearly, Diaz’s stock value in the UFC is still high enough to be in such demand, despite his lengthy absence. He may not have a fight date and opponent yet, but according to UFC president Dana White, fans may be seeing Diaz in the Octagon once again, sooner than later.

“Nick wants to fight. Nick’s ready to go again. I’ve got to figure that out,” White told Andy Nesbitt of FOX Sports @The Buzzer.
