Kat Dennings, star of CBS’ popular sitcom 2 Broke Girls and movies such as Thor, Thor: The Dark World, and The 40-year-old Virgin, appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show last week. In addition to talking about her upcoming projects and the appeal of cats wearing hats, Dennings revealed that she had been spending time with her “very good friend” Ronda Rousey.

According to Dennings, she and the former UFC women’s bantamweight champion started what she termed an “unlikely knitting club,” which the pair dubbed The Yarn and the Restless, inspired by the name of a long-running soap opera.

“We’ve knitted a scarf,” said Dennings regarding the group’s achievements thus far, before admitting that the club was more of an excuse to drink wine and “make friend memories.”

Ronda Rousey (12-1) has not fought in the UFC in almost a year. Her last appearance was at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia, where she was dethroned as champion by Holly Holm.

The 29-year-old remains ranked at number two in the UFC’s women’s bantamweight division, behind her rival Miesha Tate and the division’s latest champion, Amanda Nunes.

When, where, and if the secretive Olympic bronze medalist will return remains a hot topic in the MMA-sphere. Recently Amanda Nunes, while speaking to Brazilian outlet Combate, hinted that she may be welcoming Rousey back to the sport at December’s UFC 207.

Invicta featherweight champ, and unofficial UFC women’s catchweight champion, Cris ‘Cyborg’ Justino continues to needle Rousey on social media, declaring her desire to both get her mitts on the former champ, and leave her with stitches. At this time it is unknown if Justino plans to challenge Rousey in the knitting world also, possibly by forming her own sewing circle called Crochets of our Lives.
