Wireless company T-Mobile has purchased the naming rights of the new Las Vegas arena, which is set to open to the public in April of this year, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

The T-Mobile arena is being built by MGM Resorts International and Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) at a cost of $375 million.

T-Mobile is headquartered in Bellevue, Washington and is a national provider of wireless voice, messaging, and data services capable of reaching over 293 million Americans. This is the company's first corporate arena title deal, whereas some competitors, such as AT&T and Verizon, have already made certain naming rights deals in the United States with venue owners.

"This was their one shot (at a first naming rights deal), and they wanted to make it a good one," Rick Arpin, MGM Resorts International senior vice president for entertainment, said.

Specific details of the long-term deal, expected to last approximately ten years, were not released.

The T-Mobile Arena is currently scheduled to host July's UFC 200, which is expected to be one of the biggest events in the premier MMA organization's history. No fights have been officially announced, but a pair of title fights are likely to headline.
