A heavyweight clash between Mark Hunt and Frank Mir is scheduled to headline for UFC Fight Night 84 in Australia. MMAFighting.com initially reported the news, and UFC officials later confirmed the news to MMAjunkie.com's John Morgan.
Hunt (11-10-1) suffered back-to-back losses to Fabricio Werdum in a UFC interim title fight and Stipe Miocic over the past 14 months, but most recently rebounded successfully with a massive knockout win over Antonio Silva at UFC 193 in November.
Mir (18-10) had his two-fight winning streak snapped in his last outing by Andrei Arlovski at UFC 191 in September. Prior to that, he picked up a first-round knockout over Todd Duffee in the main event of UFC Fight Night 70 and a finish over Bigfoot, in an early 2015 headliner.
UFC Fight Night 84 takes place live from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia on March 20th (March 19th in North America). No other fights have been made official for the card.
