Dana White promises mentally strong Rousey will bounce back

After a prolonged absence from the media spotlight and social media, Ronda Rousey appears to be re-embracing her role as the #1 MMA personality in the sport. The Olympic bronze medalist hosted NBC's Saturday Night Live last weekend and seemed to be in high spirits

Rousey, 28, lost her bantamweight title to Holly Holm at UFC 193 and is expected to be out of action for the foreseeable future. It was originally expected that "Rowdy" would rematch Holm in July but the Judoka requested more time to heal. "The Preacher's Daughter" will now defend the belt against Miesha Tate at UFC 196 on March 5th.

Some fighters, including former pound for pound #1 Jose Aldo, have suggested that Rousey should pursue a full-time acting career but Dana White has assured fans of a successful return to the Octagon.

The UFC president spoke to TMZ earlier today.

"I don't think so," White said when asked if Rousey was overwhelmed heading into UFC 193. "She's one of the mentally strongest people I've ever met in my life and err, you know, just wasn't her night - she'll bounce back. She killed it on Saturday Night Live, though."

Rousey is expected to take on the winner of Holm vs. Tate to re-establish her position as one of the most dominant female fighters in the bantamweight division.
