A pivotal welterweight matchup between Michael Page and Fernando Gonzalez has been added to Bellator 151 as the evening's co-main event, Bellator MMA officials announced on Monday.
Page (9-0) is one of the organization's most promising up-and-comers, known for his flashy, powerful striking, highlight-reel KOs, and cocky persona. He made his Bellator debut in 2013 and has since stopped every one of his fights except for Nah-Shon Burrell. In his latest outing, he finished Charlie Ontiveros with vicious elbow strikes on the ground in the first-round at Bellator 144 late last year.
Gonzalez (24-13), although his record isn't too impressive, is undefeated since joining Bellator in 2014. He's currently riding a four-fight winning streak and most recently submitted Curtis Millender at Bellator 137 last May. However, he did suffer a unanimous decision loss to Paul Daley in a GLORY kickboxing contest at last September's Dynamite show in San Jose. Gonzalez has also twice failed drug tests while in Bellator, both times for marijuana, including the Millender bout. Neither failure led to a no-contest result, however.
Bellator 151 takes place live from the WinStar World Casino and Resort in Thackerville, Okla. on March 4. In the main event, former bantamweight champion Joe Warren squares off with Darrion Caldwell.
