WWE SummerSlam 2015 results, gifs, video, and analysis

WWE SummerSlam 2015 is in the books, and what an event it was. The main event saw The Undertaker finally get his win back against Brock Lesnar, but did he actually win? It certainly appeared that Lesnar made Taker tap to a kimura before he was subsequently put to sleep by an Undertaker Last Ride (gogoplata). While the result is very much up in the air, the bout was a very hard-hitting affair and the perfect conclusion to a solid ten-match event.

Without further ado, here's a summary of the night's events and a whole lot of video to check out (via the homie Zombie Prophet with one from Senor Lariato).

Sheamus def. Randy Orton by pinfall

This was your typical match between the two men, with a few more high spots and 2-counts. Orton scored with an RKO at one point, but was unable to get the pin. After a few more minutes, Sheamus connected with two Brogue Kicks to pick up the victory.

Here's the finish.

New Day def. Prime Time Players, Lucha Dragons, Los Matadores by pinfall for WWE Tag Team Titles

This match saw a hilarious entrance by New Day, and a very good spotfest match overall. Everyone had their highlights (except maybe Los Matadores), and it ended with New Day taking advantage of a Titus O'Neil powerbomb to sneak in and get the pin. The first gif is a crazy move by the Lucha Dragons, the second is of the finish. Notice Kofi's hilarious celebration of the win.

Rusev (w/ Lana) vs. Dolph Ziggler (w/ Summer Rae) went to a double countout

It seems clear that this feud will be continuing, because the two men went to a non-finish. Rusev had the match won when Lana hit Summer, which was enough of a distraction for Ziggler to get back into it. They went to the outside and beat the tar out of each other while the ref counted. Ziggler almost beat the count, but they went to the double countout. Here are a couple of Rusev's big moves from the match.

Neville & Stephen Amell def. Stardust & King Barrett by pinfall

Amell, who is best known as The Green Arrow on the TV series Arrow, showed a lot more than most actors when they enter the squared circle. He actually worked the bulk of the match, with Stardust and Barrett taking turns beating him up while Amell got in brief bursts of offense (including a sweet enziguri and a dive to the outside). Eventually Neville got the tag and hit some crazy movies, including a Red Arrow on Barrett, to get the win.

Ryback def Big Show and The Miz, retains Intercontinental title

As expected, this was a hoss match with Miz in there to throw around a bit. Miz tried to take advantage when one of the big men knocked the other down, but wasn't able to get the pin. Ryback eventually took advantage of a Show KO punch on Miz, clubbing Show out of the ring to pin Miz and retain his title.

Roman Reigns and Dean Ambrose defeat Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper by pinfall

After a big spot on the outside early, Wyatt and Harper worked over Ambrose for a while in the ring. Reigns finally go the hot tag, but Harper shut him down quickly with a superkick and a powerbomb. Wyatt comes in but eats a superman punch, and Ambrose and Reigns both hit a variety of moves, finished off by a Reigns spear on Wyatt for the win.

Seth Rollins def. John Cena by pinfall (retains WWE Heavyweight Title, wins US Title)

This continued a great 2015 for Cena, who put in a great effort in another great match. Rollins came out wearing all white, which is new. The crowd was very much behind Rollins here, with Cena taking a lot of abuse. There were a ton of false finishes and reversals. Both men played to the past, with Rollins hitting an Eddie Guerrero frog splash while Cena locked up a Ric Flair figure-four leglock at one point. Rollins hit an insane superplex into a falcon arrow for a near pinfall, which was amazing. After a failed Phoenix Splash, Cena bumped the ref and Jon Stewart came out with a chair. With a big swerve, he hit Cena and Rollins nailed him with a pedigree to score the win and the US title.

Team PCB def. Team Bella vs. Team B.A.D. by pinfall in elimination match

This didn't come close to living up to last night's bout between Sasha Banks and Bayley at NXT TakeOver, but that would have been very difficult. Team B.A.D. started by beating up Becky Lynch for a bit, before some dives to the outside from seemingly everyone. Team B.A.D. was the first eliminated when Brie Bella pinned Tamina. After some Paige work with Team Bella. Finally Becky gets back in and Brie misses a top-rope dropkick really badly. Lynch then hit a pumphandle slam and picked up the anti-climactic win.

Kevin Owens defeats Cesaro by pinfall

Owens wrestling for the second night in a row, and last night's ladder match with Finn Balor was brutal. As expected, this was a great match (if a bit short). They exchanged planchas to the outside early, and hit a variety of other innovative power moves. Cesaro got in a bunch of uppercuts, of course. Cesaro was able to get in the swing, and then went for a sharpshooter. After a missed superplex from the top from Cesaro, Owens scored with a fisherman's buster and the pop-up powerbomb to get the pin.

Undertaker defeats Brock Lesnar by submission

This one was great until the weird ending. Both men, as expected, hit a ton of power moves throughout the match. Taker hit all of his big moves, including the tombstone piledriver and a Last Ride, but couldn't put Lesnar away. Lesnar F5'd Taker in the ring and on the announce table, but couldn't put Lesnar away. They both popped up smiling at each other and beat the snot out of each other, until Undertaker tied up Lesnar in his version of the gogoplata. Lesnar reversed with his kimura lock, and the bell rang out of nowhere. Everyone was confused, with the ref yelling at the timekeeper that he didn't count anyone out, when Taker grabbed the gogo again and the match apparently continued. Lesnar flipped Taker off in the move, but eventually passed out and Taker was named the winner. After the match, the replay showed that Taker clearly tapped to the kimura and Paul Heyman announced Lesnar as the winner. But it appears that Taker is being given the win (at least until tomorrow or something).
