Bellator's Will Brooks tells Patricio Freire, 'I will slap you in your f***ing mouth'

Justin Ford-USA TODAY Sports

It looks like Bellator could have its own champ vs. champ superfight brewing, as current lightweight champion Will Brooks and featherweight champion Patricio Freire got into a war of words on Twitter recently. It all started when "Pitbull" prodded "Ill Will" over the recently announced lineup for the next Bellator tent pole show. Bellator 145, on November 6th, will be headlined by Freire defending his 145 lb title against Daniel Straus. Getting second billing in the co-main event is (you guessed it) Will Brooks, defending his lightweight title against Marcin Held.

It seems like Freire just couldn't help but rub his status in Brooks' face over social media (h/t MMAJunkie):

It looks like Freire struck a never as that tweet prompted a whole string of replies from Brooks:

But things didn't stop there:

Or even there:

Hopefully Bellator finds a way to get this fight made. Frankly I'd rather watch Pitbull vs. Brooks tomorrow than Pitbull vs. Straus and Brooks vs. Held and those are both good solid fun fights. With just ten pounds between the two men it seems like a win for both of them in November makes a superfight the logical next step.
