So, Cristiane Justino (AKA Cris Cyborg) will fight for the UFC. Provided she makes weight, that is. As she announced last Tuesday, her contract with the promotion is for real. Dana White confirmed it during a press conference in New York for the UFC 189 World Tour, as was reported by Combate.

But there is a catch.

In order to land safely in the UFC, Cyborg will first try the bantamweight waters at Invicta FC, and if everything goes smoothly, she'll fight in the Octagon next.

"She has been hired by the UFC. She'll try to drop to 135 for a fight at Invicta. If she makes weight and wins, she'll fight in the UFC," said Dana White.

The ball is in Cyborg's court.

Justino, Invicta FC's current featherweight champion, and Ronda Rousey have been taunting each other back and forth as both feel like they are the best female fighter in the world, but the weight gap has always kept them apart.

Should Rousey and Cyborg win their next bouts, the UFC could be in for their biggest female title fight in its history.
