Patrick Cote wants to fight Jake Ellenberger in January

After a career resurgence, Patrick Cote has his sights set on ranked fighters once again. The Canadian welterweight, who once challenged for the UFC middleweight title, used Twitter to ask for a bout with Jake Ellenberger in early 2016. Here's the tweet:

Cote (22-9, 9-9 UFC) has won two in a row and five of seven since re-signing with the UFC back in 2012. His most recent TKO win over Josh Burkman in Saskatoon earned him a performance of the night bonus.

Ellenberger (30-10, 9-6 UFC) is coming off a knockout loss to Stephen Thompson in July. Thompson also handed Cote his last loss. Ellenberger has lost four of his last five overall, with his lone win coming over Josh Koscheck.

UFC on Fox 18 is scheduled for January 30th. No location for the card or fights have been announced for the card as of yet.
