When Ronda Rousey published her book "My Fight/Your Fight" earlier this year, the women's bantamweight champion revealed the time she left home to live on the streets, after getting into a heated row with her mother.
Despite Ronda only living in her car for a few days in 2008, the Olympic bronze medalist says it was the most motivational chapter of her life.
"After the Olympics, I came home and I was at my mom's while I was getting a job while I was looking for a place. I just got a job and me and my mom got into a big argument and so instead of going home, I stayed in my car until I found a place," Rousey said on ESPN "SportsCenter" on Wednseday.
"There's no better way to get motivated than if you're homeless. If you're homeless and not hustling, you've got a problem because I was never more motivated to find a place than then."
That motivation spurred Rousey on to find a new home and become arguably the most dominant champion in UFC history. The 28-year-old eventually sold the 2005 Honda Accord she was living in on eBay for $21,000.
As one of the highest-paid female athletes in the world, Rousey will look to shatter pay-per-view buys in her upcoming title-defense against Holly Holm at UFC 193 on November 15th in Melbourne, Australia.
