UFC Dublin: Poirier turned down replacement main event bout vs. Parke

Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The big news out of today is the cancellation of the UFC Fight Night main event between Ireland's Joseph Duffy and Dustin Poirier. Duffy suffered a concussion earlier in the week and was deemed unfit to compete in front of his home fans in Dublin. Poirier has since been pulled from the show and will be re-booked for a different event.

According to new co-headliner Norman Parke, he was offered to replace Duffy in the main event spot, but while he accepted, Poirier turned it down.

Poirier has since responded by saying it was his team's decision to not accept the last-minute bout.

Before responding to Parke, Poirier had addressed not wanting to fight a replacement opponent.

Parke will face Reza Medadi in the co-main event of Saturday's card (or whatever's left of it), which streams live on Fight Pass.
