Tonight, Gennady Golovkin competes for the first time as an HBO PPV headlining attraction. He's being touted as the next big thing in boxing, and a possible heir to the dynasty of Floyd Mayweather. Here, he takes a major step on realizing that potential as he takes on David Lemieux, live on HBO PPV. Bloody Elbow will have live fight night coverage all night, both right here, and throughout the night on Twitter. Here, we'll have round by round recaps, featuring rounds 4-6.

Round 4: Golovkin returns to pushing forward, forcing the normally aggressive Lemieux on the back foot. Midway through the round, GGG lands the best punch of the fight so far - a nasty left hook that hurts Lemieux badly. GGG pounces and keeps up the pressure, though to his credit, Lemieux manages to stay on his feet. Still, a dominant round. 10-9 Golovkin

Round 5: Partway through the round, Lemieux had a moment of promise as he landed a hard right and seemed to find success. But GGG came back strong from that, landing a nasty body shot that dropped Lemieux for the first knockdown of the fight. 10-8 Golovkin

Round 6: Best round for Lemieux so far, as he becomes increasingly willing to go for it and get a bit wild if needed. Which is realistically his only shot at winning this. GGG is a bit slower this round, allowing Lemieux to land a decent number of shots. It may be a mercy score, but I thought Lemieux landed more clean, effective shots here. 10-9 Lemieux, 59-54 Golovkin after 6

Stay tuned all night for full fight night coverage of Golovkin vs. Lemieux.
