Video: Gruesome Anderson Silva-like leg break from Brazil

I think it's safe to say that every up and coming MMA fighter in Brazil wants to be like Anderson Silva, but Marcos 'Rino' Souza probably didn't have this in mind when he took on Cristian Goetz this past weekend. It was at a local event called Favela Kombat 10, and three rounds into his light heavyweight bout, Souza threw a kick which his opponent checked. Much like Silva, his leg then snapped resulting in yet another gruesome injury.

Footage of the freak injury can be seen above, but be warned, as the screen shot indicates, it's really not a pretty sight -- especially in slow motion.

According to Guilherme Cruz of MMA Fighting, the injury suffered was a broken tibia, and the Brazilian is set to have surgery today. Recovery from this type of injury will likely take 4-6 months, although even Silva doesn't have a target date for a return yet seven months after his own leg injury.
