Early betting odds have Anderson Silva as sizable favorite against Nick Diaz

In case you've been on an internet and television exile, Anderson Silva is fighting Nick Diaz at middleweight at the end of January as the UFC 183 main event. This should *crosses fingers* be one of the most fascinating spectacles in UFC history. Some oddsmakers have released their lines on this mega-fight, with Silva opening at -240 and Diaz at +190 according to Bestfightodds:

The numbers have since changed since the opening lines were released, and Silva is now an even larger favorite, available at no less than -350 (as of this 4 PM ET publish), and Diaz at +330.

Please note that these odds will change over time, so the image you see right now may not necessarily be the same one you see tomorrow.

It's no surprise Silva is the favorite against someone whose last win was in 2011 and has never competed at middleweight before. The only question is how much bigger can Silva get as a favorite, and as we get closer to fight time, will Diaz get some late money thrown his way? After all, at 39 years of age, perhaps the extent of Anderson Silva's decline is greater than expected.

Oh, and for a humorous aside, 5Dimes presently has Anderson Silva as a -420 favorite. You can make all the jokes you want.
