Nick Diaz willing to fight Anderson Silva if the money is right

USA TODAY Sports

After former middleweight kingpin Anderson Silva announced that he would be interested in a match-up against Nick Diaz, the Stockton native was quick to respond.

UFC Tonight's Ariel Helwani revealed that Diaz would consider coming out of retirement to face Silva, but it would have to be for the right price. He added that Diaz considers the potential match-up to be one of the biggest fights in MMA history.

Discussion revolving this compelling match-up was rekindled on Monday, when Silva's manager Ed Soares, mentioned Nick Diaz as the opponent that his client was potentially interested in facing in his return to the octagon. Diaz's response came on Wednesday evening.

When Diaz first expressed interest in returning to the octagon, he asked for a $500,000 payday, no matter the opponent. It is unlikely that his next asking price for a potential super fight against Silva will be any less than that.

Time will tell if this fight will ever come to fruition.
