With Guam's Jon Delos Reyes bowing out of his UFC Fight Night 43 bout due to injury, the UFC has picked up unbeaten Filipino prospect Roldan Sangcha-an (4-0) to step in as a late replacement for the June 28 card in Auckland, New Zealand.
UFC officials announced the change, stating that Sangcha-an will be part of the event's preliminary card and will be facing Delos Reyes' original opponent in Australia's Richie Vaculik (9-2).
As he only started his MMA career 2 years ago, Sangcha-an is one of the newer stablemates of top Filipino fighters such as UFC featherweight Mark Eddiva and ONE FC stars such as Eduard Folayang, Rey Docyogen, and Kevin Belingon. As with majority of the fighters coming out of the country's best camp in Team Lakay, Roldan is also a Wushu-based fighter, and has recently established himself as the top contender at the Guam and Philippine based promotion, Pacific X-Treme Combat.
UFC Fight Night 34 will be headlined by Nate Marquardt and James Te Huna, and will also feature a featherweight bout between Hatsu Hioki and Charles Oliveira along with other prospects from Australia and New Zealand.
