According to Tom Wright, Toronto is far from a lock for UFC 178.
The UFC's Managing Director of Operations in Canada, Australia and New Zealand made it clear that while the promotion was still looking for a location to host UFC 178, they were still considering Toronto.
"We're still trying to figure out where 178 is going to be," Wright stated following the event. "A decision hasn't been made. I'm waiting to hear from (UFC executives) Lorenzo (Fertitta) and Dana (White) on that, and we'll probably find out next week because we obviously have some planning we have to do.
Wright also revealed that UFC 181, which would have likely taken place in Montreal next December, will now take place in another location, as their Montreal date had been moved to March, 2015.
"In terms of Montreal, it's the same sort of thing. We're looking to most likely move that fight to March of 2015."
The UFC 178 fight card is expected to feature the anticipated rematch between Light heavyweight champion Jon Jones and Alexander Gustafsson. The promotion had also considered Sweden for the fight card, but Wright refused to confirm anything, and later stated that the announcement would be made shortly.
