How's this for a fight? Joe Lauzon usually brings the excitement whenever he competes, and he'll get the chance to do it a couple of hours from his home in September. The longtime fan favorite has been added to the UFC's card in Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut and he'll be facing off with a TUF winner - Michael Chiesa. The Boston Herald has the news.
Lauzon (23-9), a native of Bridgewater, Massachusetts, is coming off a December decision win over Mac Danzig that broke a two-fight losing streak. This will be his 17th fight in the UFC - he's 10-6 in the promotion thus far.
Chiesa (11-1) won the 15th edition of The Ultimate Fighter and is 4-1 in the UFC overall. His last win came via unanimous decision over Francisco Trinaldo at UFC 173 last month.
The Herald states that the bout will not be the headliner of the event. In other news, a featherweight bout between Sean Soriano and Andre Fili has also reportedly been added to the card. The show will take place on the same weekend as a Bellator event in the same state.
